Britney Spears would not do interview with Oprah Winfrey

The pop star says she ‘might end up doing a certain thing later, down the road’, but has ‘nothing planned right now’

Britney Spears has said she has no immediate plans to do an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The 38-year-old popstar has made previous attempts to come clean about her life, in her bestseller Through the Storm and with a National Magazine Award winner for Sexiest Woman Alive.

But she told Australia’s 9NEWS she is “not actively” doing a Winfrey interview. “I might end up doing a certain thing later, down the road,” she said.

“But right now I don’t have anything planned.”

Spears performed at Winfrey’s final live show on the Oprah Winfrey Network, which closed on Friday after 22 years. She had said it felt like “walking into an old friend’s house” and “doing an interview with her”.

The deal came after speculation had mounted that Spears would replace Oprah Winfrey as host of NBC’s hit talk show The $100,000 Pyramid.

The previous occupant of the coveted spot, former US vice-president Joe Biden, announced this week that he would not be returning for a second season.
