Italian luxury fashion house Gucci continues to explore its unique relationship with the House of Prada.

The company’s 2018 Spring-Summer collection was inspired by the legendary assemblage with which the Italian fashion designer collaborated during the past six years.

“Our Spring Summer 2018 collection begins with the House of Prada’s combination of special, extraordinary, fragile and daring.” said the brand’s creative director, Alessandro Michele.

Throughout the collection, the V collection shares style tips, looks and stories with classic Prada pieces.

“Inspired by Prada’s mix of cultural references, the season’s collection looks forward to the future and speaks to the spirit of freedom and variety of the human spirit,” said Michele in the press release.

The influence of both brands runs deep. It remains unclear which is more successful — either at launching new collections or on the art of self-promotion.

Gucci’s movement towards wider recognition is supported by rising star Michele.

Though the Italian designer has only helmed the brand for 18 months, his unique style and personality are an undeniable part of the Gucci collection.
