Euphoria and Little Match Girl among UK TV highlights

A new season of “joyous and frustrating” coming-of-age drama Euphoria and a US premiere date for Rachel Talalay’s animated sequel Little Match Girl are among the announced offerings.

Euphoria’s two-part season two premieres in the UK on Sky Atlantic on Tuesday 6 September and stateside the following day, and is described as “fraught with difficult challenges and love”. The series, which features Zooey Deschanel, Agnes Bruckner and Denise Gough, is executive produced by Keegan-Michael Key.

The trailer features clips of a never-before-seen episode of the first season, as well as the triumphant return of Kensington, a darker character played by Violett Beane. Violett Beane, Benny Pou and James Paxton also star in Little Match Girl, a sequel to The Little Match Girl, which will be debuting at the 2018 Tribeca film festival later this month. Karen Thorson, Lior Ashkenazi, Roisin Conaty and Oly Obst also star.

Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion author Elin Hilderbrand has adapted the second book into an original screenplay, which the author wrote and Elin Hilderbrand directed. The series will be getting a US premiere on AMC’s SundanceTV.
