‘Hawkeye’ will air on Disney+ streaming service in 2019

The newest Marvel series, “Hawkeye,” will debut on the Disney+ streaming service at some point in 2019, Disney’s head of direct-to-consumer and international told The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday.

From TVLine, here’s an official description of the series:

In “Hawkeye,” Clint Barton (Spencer Treat Clark) is one of the world’s most revered archers. Just because he’s not part of the Avengers, it doesn’t mean he’s given up his passion for the sport. This self-imposed exile doesn’t stop either his sister, Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki), or his current employer, Ronin (Eddie Ramirez), from trying to recruit him into their team of superhero misfits. But when Baron Strucker (guest star Thomas Kretschmann) plans to use a devastating event from Barton’s past as a weapon, it’s up to him and his fellow misfits to protect the innocent. The series also stars Clara Paget and Kim Andriessen.

The Disney+ service will be one of four streaming networks launching in the U.S. sometime next year, along with Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Along with the four services, it will also have an SVOD service offering MGM titles through 2021, a direct-to-consumer network offering original programming and an ESPN service.
